About the Council

West Berkshire Council is a forward thinking and ambitious award winning Council. We have a positive attitude to our work and focus on using excellent teamwork to deliver great services for our residents and businesses.

Employing over 1,500 members of staff corporately, plus additional members of staff working across our local schools and education settings, West Berkshire Council is a large employer in the local area.

Our staff support the delivery of a wide range of services on behalf of the council, ranging from garden waste collection, housing and roadworks to caring for those in our communities, just to name a few. Without such hard working, dedicated staff we wouldn't be able to provide a host of different services to the community - everything we do is focused on our priorities for improvement:

Working in the Strategy and Governance department within the Resources directorate this is a critical role to enhance our good governance to great governance and contribute to a range of exciting projects and initiatives
