Welcome

Welcome and thank you for taking the time and interest to find out more about our department and the University. We are delighted to be informing you about our team, our journey, and the opportunities that exist at this very exciting period in the development of our social inclusion strategy.

We are striving for excellence and are not satisfied by standing still. By 2030, Warwick will be one of the world’s exceptional universities, helping to transform our region, country and world for the collective good. We do so by focusing on supporting our talented staff and students and giving them the freedom and best environments in which to flourish. We aspire to remove economic, social and cultural barriers that have prevented talented people from working and studying at Warwick and be recognised as best in class in our approach to diversity and social inclusion, for staff and students.

Our Social Inclusion Strategy will help Warwick to re-imagine the original purpose of setting up the University in 1965, to ‘increase access to higher education’. Through this Strategy, the University aspires to remove economic, social and cultural barriers that have prevented people from working, studying and succeeding at Warwick, and to be recognised as best in class in its approach to equality, diversity and inclusion, for staff and students by 2030.

We are looking for two exceptional candidates committed to social inclusion. You will bring to the University of Warwick: expert management and project experience, demonstrable evidence of improving inclusion and cultural change in a complex organisation, experience and commitment to work through related issues. You will be a confident communicator at every level, able to influence stakeholders, partners and decision makers and increase buy-in by building strong relationships, consider confidentiality, respectfully and sensitively navigating through issues. You are quick on your feet, pro-active, calm under pressure and solve problems as they arise. Proficient IT and finance management skills complete your profile.

You will be responsible for providing high-level policy support and strategic oversight, managing the development and implementation of projects and activities to deliver our Social Inclusion Strategy. Our key priorities are to provide an inclusive experience for our students and staff through diversity and an inclusive learning and working environment. You will work with academic and professional services colleagues, the Students’ Union and our external partners and stakeholders.
