All roles are graded using the NJC pay spine and our job evaluation framework. Salary is typically quoted as a range, with progression through the spine based on annual pay awards and performance.

We implement nationally negotiated NJC pay awards each year, typically applied from April. Additional local allowances may apply for specialist or hard-to-fill roles.

Employee contributions range from 5.5% to 12.5% depending on salary. The Council contributes a further 14–20.9%, making it one of the most generous employer pension schemes available.

Relocation support of up to £8,000 is available for senior appointments and hard-to-fill roles, subject to approval and a two-year service commitment.
