Hear from our staff

For close to seven years, I have been a part of the COTM family. Starting off as a Senior Residential Worker, I was encouraged to use all available resources within the organisation to progress my career in a way that reflected my personal values and aligned with the company’s ethos. I was afforded the opportunity to gain my level 5 qualification and work alongside a stream of professionals that enriched my development and journey.

Before completion of my qualification, I became a Registered Manager of one of our homes where I was further encouraged and scaffolded by the organisations' leadership to flourish within this role. There have been endless opportunities to network with professionals, access training and grow as a professional to niche my skills.

COTMs commitment and dedication of providing an eco-system of love and care to the young people we support is unmatched. Together, we have created homes that celebrate the small wins as well as the massive accomplishments and push to overcome challenges. Young People feel secure to explore themselves, make mistakes and learn from them through the way we foster and craft impactful relationships with them.

Clarese | Operations Manager

“I undertook the role of a senior residential care worker within Children of the Mangrove in September 2017. There was an ethos within the organisation that I knew I wanted to be part of. The care and nurture I observed from the team towards the young people was not something I had observed previously. I knew then that I wanted to have a meaningful impact on the young people having to manage the trauma of their early years. My passion for working with young people had been reignited.

After two years in the role as a senior residential childcare worker, I worked in the capacity as a deputy for two years before undertaking the role of manager. The management team ensured there was significant support in place to assist me in the new challenges that I would encounter and build on my leadership skills. I was supported to undertake the level 5 in leadership and management.

I believe there is scope and opportunities for anyone with the passion, desire, and commitment to progress through the organisation in the same way I have.”

Eileen | Registered Manager
