Progression

  • There are practice education opportunities in house and our Newly Qualified Social Work (ASYE) programme supports pods via an ASYE Development Manager.
  • We offer progression through interview and portfolio-based assignments supported by our Principal Social Worker (PSW)
  • Social work grades include Level 3 and Level 4 which means there is scope to develop practice over time and linked to the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF)
  • There are opportunities to become a Practice Development Lead for Level 3 & Level 4 Social Workers which is a step towards a role in management, we also offer 20% off the job to support with auditing work.

Continuous Professional Development

  • Learning resources, support and lecturing opportunities from our membership in the Pan-Dorset and Wiltshire Social Work Teaching Partnership (PDWTP)
  • Our thematic audits enable us to pick out best practice to share and to understand our strengths as well as weaknesses.
  • Our annual CPD programme is based upon staff/family feedback, societal impacts, and Quality Assurance findings.
  • Teaching partnership with Bournemouth University results in journal club, being involved in masterclasses with those with experience help to shape university programme.
