About UEA
The University of East Anglia (UEA) has been rated as one of the best universities for student experience in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2016. It is currently 7th out of all UK universities in addition to being consistently in the top ten for student satisfaction.
UEA is an internationally renowned university based in a campus that provides top quality academic, social and cultural facilities to over 15,000 students. The campus is located in 360 acres of rolling parkland just two miles from the centre of Norwich, the cathedral city, and England’s first UNESCO City of Literature. This uniquely-placed University is also a leading member of Norwich Research Park, one of Europe's biggest concentrations of researchers in the fields of environment, health and plant science.
Sporting facilities on campus include the University Sportspark which houses an Olympic-sized swimming pool and regularly hosts international sporting events. UEA also has the world famous Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts and hosts an International Literary Festival which has included famous names such as Ian McEwan, Kazuo Ishiguro and Anne Enright (all alumni of UEA's Creative Writing course).
The stunning campus, just 15 minutes from the centre of Norwich, has won over 20 awards for architecture. UEA is the top ten of the Guardian's People and Planet Green League 2011, which ranks universities according to their policies and commitment to environmental management.
UEA is a Campus University and the Estates and Facilities Division is proud to be able to make a positive contribution to the University’s vision by managing, developing and creating a Campus that makes a positive impact on the living and learning experience for students and staff.
The Campus is one of the most architecturally striking campuses in the Higher Education sector. The central Campus is set on a beautiful 360 acre estate in Norwich.
The central Campus has a coherent built environment renowned for low energy sustainable buildings, iconic 1960s Lasdun-designed teaching and residential buildings, lord Foster’s Sainsbury Centre, innovative contemporary buildings for learning and enterprise and sensitively restored 16th century listed buildings.
The western Campus, which includes the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Trust and the Norwich Research Park, has award-winning research and teaching buildings which are the vanguard of collaborative research and development planned for the area.
The innovative works continue to win awards and they strive to make all the developments visually to enhance the Campus and promote the principles of sustainable design, smart technology and ease of operation.
The listed 1960's buildings are being reassessed to determine how they can create world class technology and research within an existing envelope. This reassessment will provide a unique opportunity for Estates and Facilities to re-imagine the original ethos and design of the University. The breadth and depth of this remodelling will be the most important development in the life of the University since it was first conceived.

With some 4,300 students living on Campus provides a vibrant and active community and is considered to be a small town and consequentially has all the infrastructure to support it.
