Corporate Social Responsibility
Environmental Responsibility
Environmental sustainability is at the heart of what we do. As the UK’s leading retrofit skills organisation, we are at the cutting edge of the drive to make our homes more environmentally friendly.
We are also committed to environmental sustainability in our internal operations. Hybrid working and car share arrangements help to cut our carbon emissions and our offices have a range of energy saving and carbon reducing measures such as solar panels, voltage optimisation, a ground source heat pump and light sensors.
Community Impact
The primary community we serve is that of the retrofit sector. Increasing the number of competent, skilled retrofitters able to deliver high quality retrofit will not only improve people’s standards of living but will also move us towards Net Zero.
The Retrofit Academy invests heavily in product development so that we can increase our impact on people’s lives and our environment.
We also take an active role in the local community. Through our “Christmas Giving” campaigns we have donated money, food and toiletries to House of Bread, a homelessness charity based in Stafford. We have also introduced a corporate volunteering day.
Ethical Responsibility
We treat our colleagues, customers, clients and suppliers fairly and equally regardless of age, race, culture or sexual orientation.
We are a Living Wage Employer and offer favourable pay and benefits. Our approach to recruitment gives fair consideration to all candidates regardless of personal differences.
Our corporate training includes mandatory Equality, Diversity and Inclusion training.
We are also committed to improving the life chances of those who have faced barriers for reasons related to race, gender or other protected characteristics. We have worked with a global-not-for-profit organisation, to develop an employability bootcamp training the first ever Domestic Retrofit Advisors in the UK and helping these to secure well paid jobs.
