The Retrofit Academy is the driving force in retrofit knowledge and skills and is recognised as the industry’s workforce development partner for housing associations and contractors across the UK.

Its mission is to drive the development of 200,000 competent retrofitters in the UK by 2030. Two homes need to be retrofitted every minute if we are to meet the UK Government’s Net Zero commitments. To do this, thousands of skilled professionals are needed that can deliver home decarbonisation at a scale never seen before.

The Retrofit Academy has to date, enrolled over 5000 learners and is at the heart of delivering leading-edge training and professional development across the UK, empowering organisations to transform the UK’s housing stock through high quality, safe retrofit.

Working in partnership with government, industry and education to build retrofit capacity and capability across the UK, through a network of partnerships The Retrofit Academy nurtures invaluable partnerships that bring together people and organisations to identify and develop the demand for and supply of retrofit skills in an area and realising social value.

It offers extensive leadership, experience and a bespoke programme of activity to engage with retrofit clients, employers, the supply chain and workforces to embrace the opportunity and facilitate the growth of competent retrofitters.

At the forefront of building the UK's retrofit training network, they provide well-established training materials and expert tutors to carefully selected training partners from higher education (HE), further education (FE), and private training providers across the UK. This collaboration not only opens doors to rewarding careers in retrofit but also advances the competence of existing workforces.
