The Gambling Commission, setup under the Gambling Act 2005, is an independent non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), dedicated to promoting fair and safe gambling.

With over 250 employees we license, regulate, advise and provide guidance to the individuals and businesses that offer gambling. We are responsible for overseeing all forms of gambling in Great Britian including arcades, betting, bingo, casinos, gaming machine providers, gambling software providers, lottery operators, phone/online gambling, and the National Lottery in the UK.

Our primary objective is to provide a secure and trustworthy gambling environment to protect players and ensure the integrity and transparency of the gambling industry.
