Steve
ICT Senior Infrastructure Technical Engineer

“Hi, I am Steve, I started working at Stevenage Borough Council in 1984 and joined the IT department as a Computer Operator working on something called Mainframes. Since then, we have witnessed a massive change in technology.

My current role is ICT Senior Infrastructure Technical Engineer. I look after our Microsoft Office 365 products at a technical level, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Backups.

I have really enjoyed working a Stevenage Borough Council, we have a great team, and everyone is committed to doing their best and delivering a good service. The council offers flexible approach to work with many benefits. As I near retirement I have been able to take the opportunity of Flexible Retirement and now work part time three days a week.”

“Hi, my name is Drew. I started working for Stevenage Borough Council back in 2016 as a Service Desk Officer. After a few years I moved on to a Technical Support Engineer role, which is my current role now.

I currently administrate Intune, which is Microsoft’s security software for mobile devices e.g. laptops, phones and tablets. I also deal with day-to-day tasks on future projects, for example my previous project was migrating all our users to Windows 10 and now currently working on moving everyone over to Windows 11. I am also available to the Service Desk to help them out to the best of my abilities when they need me for assistance on various tasks.

I really enjoy working in the Infrastructure team as I have a good relationship with my immediate team and the wider ICT team, making coming to work enjoyable and interesting.”
