Pay & Reward

Introduction from Olivia Williams, Strategic Lead of Pay and Reward

The Pay and Reward Team at RBKC are committed to equal pay compliance and equal opportunities across the council. We provide fair and robust job evaluations for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council reviewing a breadth of interesting roles in all directorates across the council. We provide coaching, feedback, and challenge to managers, working closely with our HR Business Partners, to allow consistent job descriptions that correctly reflect the scope of the role. This helps us to ensure roles are correctly graded and in the same range as colleagues working in comparable jobs for the council. We also provide a job evaluation service for Westminster Council, allowing a further range of jobs to be reviewed and evaluated, and the opportunity to work across two councils.

We are responsible for completing the Gender Pay Gap reporting each year, and as part of this report we provide Ethnicity Pay Gap and Disability Pay Gap as additional information to give a more complete picture of the organisation. We work closely with our EDI colleagues to create the action plan each year making commitments to our colleagues and externally on positive steps we are taking to maintain momentum in reducing both our gender and ethnicity pay gaps, which is a strategic priority for the council.

This is a really exciting time to join HR and the Pay and Reward Team; following a recent pay review in 2021 there is a focus on integrity and transparency of data and having clear and helpful guidance for our colleagues. We offer a competitive salary and annual leave including the offer to buy additional annual leave. The team is hybrid, working between remote working and in our office in Horton Street, High Street Kensington – a beautiful location surrounded by parks, shops and cafes.
