About our values

We value the people we serve. First and foremost, we aim to put our communities first.

Our values are respect, integrity, and working together to achieve the best outcomes for the borough.

As the largest employer in the borough with over 2,000 staff, we work in partnership to bring positive outcomes to people and communities, while providing a working environment for our people.

We want to work with outstanding people whose attitudes and behaviours truly reflect our organisation’s values that we can provide the high level of service the community deserves. However, you will be supported with on the job development and formal training.

Along with demonstrating empathy and strong customer focus, we expect our staff to have respect for every individual they work with and to operate with integrity at all times.

To help us get to where we want to be and to where our communities want us to be, we have introduced a People Strategy which incorporates four key pillars – teamwork and collaboration; diversity and inclusion; health and wellbeing; and personal development. Our People Strategy explains more about each of the four pillars and how we intend to achieve the desired outcome.
