Hours of work – You have a contracted number of hours per week, which are exclusive of a meal break. The working pattern will be agreed with your Line Manager prior to your commencement. This working pattern can be flexed to meet your own and service provision requirements with reasonable notice.

Flexible working - The Trust has a commitment that all employees should be able to balance their working life with commitments outside of work. Our Flexible Working policy enables you to request a flexible working pattern that suits you. You can make such a request every 12 months should your commitments change.

Annual leave – The NHS offer favourable leave entitlements to support the importance of a good work life balance. The leave entitlement for a full year for full-time staff (37.5 hours per week over five days), are set out in the following table:

On appointment to NHS 27 days + 8 days = 5.4 weeks
After 5 years NHS service 29 days + 8 days = 5.8 weeks
After 10 years NHS service 33 days + 8 days = 6.6 weeks

Wellbeing of our staff

Staff health and wellbeing is about ensuring that people feel good and function well both physically and mentally. It is about working in partnership to promote health and wellbeing to proactively prevent ill-health through education, promotion and encouraging participation in key activities.

Your health and wellbeing is extremely important to us so we have developed a number of intiatives to support you to be happy and healthy.

  • Staff Mental Health Wellbeing Hub - this includes access to Self Help resources, referral links and links to National Resources for Healthcare Staff
  • Staff Facebook Group - designed to share ideas, support each other and provide information for our Staff
  • Now We're Talking - Our Trust campaign designed to reduce stigma and encourage more local people to access the Healthy Minds Service. We encourage all of our Staff with various awareness campaigns including the Worcester City Run
  • Staff Benefits - we have a number of benefits available to aid your wellbeing, including Cycle to Work schemes, Free Eye Tests as well as NHS Discounts
