Planning Enforcement Team

Why Join Our Planning Enforcement Team

This is a pivotal time to join Hart’s Planning Enforcement team. With increasing development pressures across the district, enforcement plays a vital role in ensuring that growth is managed responsibly and that planning decisions are properly implemented and upheld.

Our Enforcement team is being strengthened to meet these demands, offering the opportunity to work on a varied and meaningful caseload. From investigating breaches of planning control to securing compliance and supporting the integrity of the planning system, your work will have a direct and visible impact on the quality of places across Hart.

The work is diverse and often complex, requiring a proactive and solution-focused approach. You will engage with residents, developers and internal teams to resolve issues effectively and proportionately. You will also be part of a supportive and collaborative environment, working alongside colleagues who are professional, approachable and committed to making a positive impact.

We offer a competitive employment package, including:

  • Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Flexible working hours and a generous hybrid working policy
  • Support for continuing professional development, including professional subscriptions
  • Free staff parking
  • Access to a confidential employee advice and support programme
  • A strong emphasis on work life balance
  • A genuinely supportive team culture

Our work is guided by a commitment to continuous improvement, high-quality service, and maintaining public confidence in the planning system. The Planning Enforcement team plays a crucial role in this - protecting the character of the district while supporting sustainable development.
