About GFSL
GFSL has been created to maintain the delivery of the prison Facilities Management (FM) services such as cleaning, reactive maintenance, landscaping and planned building repair work to 50 prisons across Greater London, South East, East and South West of England.
The priority for the organisation is professional and effective service delivery to ensure essential repairs and maintenance are carried out in a timely manner to ensure the Health and Safety of staff and prisoners.
Responsibilities
Within 50 prison establishments in England, GFSL is responsible for:
- Maintaining facilities to a good standard
- Full range of mechanical, electrical and building fabric
- Statutory PPM in line with service level agreement
- Carrying out ‘planned & reactive’ maintenance activities
- Providing support to on-going construction projects
- Administrators, store persons, cleaners and contractor escorts
Priorities
FM is a critical support service for Her Majesty’s Prisons and Probation Service and GFSL works with all relevant stakeholders to ensure a stable service which retains skilled and knowledgeable staff working on the FM contracts.
