Equality & Diversity
Diversity within EDM Group allows innovative and proactive solutions for both internal and external clients, through generating new ideas, while continues to allow us to be the leading company within the market.
We are extremely proud of our Diversity & Inclusion journey and we’re engaging with employees to understand work places initiatives which will celebrate and support individuals to ensure we offer a truly inclusive workplace.
At EDM Group we have employees from 27 different nationalities and our UK employee base is: 49% male and 51% female, which really showcases our commitment. Don’t just take our word for it, see what our employees have to say:
"I joined EDM Group in 2015 as a Project Manager. My first project was to manage the development of a brand new product that EDM were investing in under the Mortgage Services business, and deliver this to one of the largest building societies in the UK. In my short time with the company I have been promoted to Programme Manager and now look after all of the Mortgage Service Business stream.
As a mum of two; one with special needs, it can be somewhat of a challenge to manage both sides of my life and ensure that I have the correct work-life balance. How do I do this? I have the ability to work flexibly within EDM. This enables me to work from home and adjust my working day to fit in with my children’s needs.
I am very proud of what I have achieved in my time at EDM and the confidence that the company instilled in me to progress in my role. I would offer the following advice to any woman that doesn’t believe they can succeed in their chosen career if you have a family; the opportunities are there for the taking and with flexibility you can achieve your dreams."
"I joined EDM as a Business Intelligence Manager in June 2016; in this time I have progressed through the company at a pace that I sometimes can’t believe.
When I started as a Business Intelligence Manager, I was responsible for creation of reports for one department which included Customer Services and IT Support. Less than a year into this role, I was then promoted to UK Business Intelligence Manager where I then was responsible for reporting across the company. Within this role I had a chance to introduce Power BI to the company and create real time reporting across departments and for customers.
Four months after being promoted previously, I was then given the opportunity to lead the UK Customer Services team as well as keeping my BI role. I am very proud and thankful to EDM for believing in me to be able to fulfil these roles which I enjoy very much.
As a recent mother of one, I went on maternity leave last year and was well supported through the company. Using my KIT days to keep in touch with my team and getting updates from my manager helped me to return to work easily and not feel over whelmed.
I continue to be challenged and stretched which is why I love working at EDM as no day is the same; the opportunities that EDM has given me over a short period of time has given me confidence and belief that women can progress through companies regardless of being on maternity leave."
I joined EDM as the Mortgage Product Manager in May 2019 and the last 9 months have flown……
I spent the last 22 years of my career in the retail banking industry, so naturally after many years with the same extensive organisation I was nervous about joining a much smaller business. I had experience of EDM group and was delighted to be able to stay close to my passion of digital transformation. The beauty of a smaller organisation is the close nit community of staff and the frequent exposure to the executive team which is refreshing.
My role is based around helping financial businesses to automate, reduce paper, mitigate risk and to improve their internal business processes alongside their overall customer experience. I do this by translating their needs and requirements into new technology and innovative offerings from EDM’s Mortgage risk solutions.
I have spent my first few months understanding our existing clients needs and how they use our mortgage solutions today; as well as the business partners we work alongside. I have also spent some time meeting with new clients which I particularly enjoy as they are just starting on their mortgage transformation journey and it’s an opportunity for us to be part of that and to support them with their end goal in delivering an outstanding customer experience.
We have a committed and passionate leadership team at EDM where nurture and development of staff is very important. I have recently attended the EDM Leadership Programme which is a great investment by EDM and underpins the core values that the company is built on. I’m thoroughly enjoining my role and it’s great to already be involved in conversations on how the role could grow and develop to ensure I’m constantly stretched and challenged whilst continuing to love what I do.
