East Suffolk Council is one of the largest district councils in the country supporting just over 250,000 residents and covering an area of 1,200sq km, including a 78km coastline stretching from Corton in the north to Felixstowe in the south. The district is diverse and is home to a number of nationally significant businesses, including the largest container port in the UK and the Sizewell B Nuclear Power Station. It is also a centre for offshore renewable energy and has thriving tourism, agricultural and technological sectors to name but a few.

I am very proud to be the Chief Executive of an agile and dynamic workforce which embraces transformation and rises to challenges such as the Covid-19 pandemic and the cost of living crisis.

We believe East Suffolk is a great place to work and we value our staff, and the contribution they make, enormously. However, we know that to continue succeeding it is essential for us to recognise and employ talented people, and also to develop and retain them within the organisation.

We operate from modern, purpose-built office accommodation in Lowestoft and Melton, which provide contemporary, open-plan working facilities; however we also offer a range of other flexible working opportunities which reflect our ambitious and progressive approach to delivering outstanding services.
