About East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust
Hays are proud to be working in partnership with the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust to recruit Ambulance Care Assistants across Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Suffolk, Essex and Bedford. This is a critical role responding to community needs through the COVID-19 pandemic. As an Ambulance Care Assistant you will assist with the assessment, provision of care and transportation of patients from hospital to their homes under the supervision of either a clinician or another Ambulance Care Assistant. You will also support the transportation of patients attending appointments with their local NHS trust.
It is important that all applicants are aware that you will be exposed to patients and health care environments and should be aware of your own resilience and whether you have any underlying health conditions that may affect your ability to undertake the role particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. You must also ensure that you are able and willing to move and/or lift equipment and patients with appropriate aids.
East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. They also provide non-emergency patient transport services for patients to and from hospital, treatment centres and other similar facilities.
In 2018/19 the Trust received more than one million emergency calls and treated 64,157 people through our Emergency Clinical Advice and Triage Centre.
