Employee well-being

Work-life balance/Smarter Working

Following the Covid-19 pandemic the way in which work can be done has changed for DFRS. They provide the opportunity to discuss more agile ways of working without losing sight of the #TeamDFRS ethos and the benefits being together brings.

DFRS recognises the importance of achieving a good work-life balance and has policies which offer family friendly working arrangements to all employees. These include annualised hours, term time contracts and job share, along with other policies such as maternity, paternity, shared parental and adoption leave, and leave for family emergencies.

A flexi time scheme is available to support employees.

Environment

DFRS is currently developing an ambitious environmental strategy in collaboration with its partners Derbyshire Constabulary, looking at reduction in energy consumption, waste and CO² emissions, damage to the environment and increased biodiversity.
