Please note that if you are successful in the process, the following holiday policy applies:
The purpose of this clause is to ensure that DDTS Academy apprentices take their entitled holiday leave within a specified timeframe, promoting a healthy work-life balance as well as ensuring that all bootcamp requirements are met.
As per your contract, you are entitled to 25 days annual leave from your start date and we encourage you to take this leave throughout the year to support your wellbeing. Due to the need to complete all the modules during the two intense 8-week bootcamp training periods, we require our apprentices on the DDTS Academy undergoing the Level 4 DevOps apprenticeship to take their holiday during the mid-point weeks. These weeks are designated for project work, taking of holiday and shadowing.
The restricted periods are: 1 May – mid July, plus mid-August – mid October
This means that periods available for annual leave are: e.g. end July – 23 August 2024 (to be defined once we have definite start dates) and then holiday can be planned in as normal from the end of bootcamp onwards i.e. from 14 October 2024 onwards.
In exceptional circumstances where it is not possible for an apprentice to take their accrued annual leave within the specified period, written request must be submitted to the line manager at least 5 working days prior to the requested period. Approval will be granted on a case-by-case basis.
All apprentices are required to comply with this provision, failure to do so may impact your ability to continue on the Academy.
