About us

So, who are we?

We are an independent, not-for-profit Registered Social Landlord (RSL). We formed as result of the transfer of around 3,800 homes from Conwy County Borough Council in 2008.

Since the transferred homes have been under our ownership and management we have invested heavily in their refurbishment to bring them up to the Welsh Housing Quality Standard, which we achieved ahead of schedule.

But there’s much more to us than just ‘bricks and mortar’. We are passionate about providing bespoke support for the people that live in our homes. From helping our older tenants live independently through our Independent Living Service to providing a range of training and employment opportunities for those struggling to get into meaningful employment.

We are really proud to be one of a handful of housing associations in the UK that are an early adopter of the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing. As an ‘Early Adopter’ of this reporting standard Cartrefi Conwy has committed to providing affordable, energy efficient homes whilst maximising our social impact and supporting our tenants to live happy healthy lives. The tenant’s voice is at the heart of everything we do and their views are essential for us to continually improve our services.

And our colleague’s voice is equally important to us. Everyone that works with us is actively encouraged and given the opportunity to shape our services. The Leadership course all colleagues are taking part in will encourage them to have an active voice and embed core leadership skills into their everyday working practices.
