Bradford College
Working together to train Good and Outstanding teachers
Welcome

A warm welcome to the McMillan Faculty of Education, based at Bradford College in the heart of Bradford.
We are a long-established provider of teacher training in the region; in fact, of the cohort completing their NQT year in 2017, 92% had gained employment in Bradford and West Yorkshire schools (2016-17). We have very strong, well-established partnerships with a range of settings – Early Years, Primary, Secondary, PRUs, Special schools and FE colleges and organisations.
College staff work inclusively with all settings to create conducive, positive training environments where trainees learn, flourish and develop the skills, knowledge, attitudes and behaviours required to succeed in the ever-changing world of education.
We pride ourselves on being professional educators steeped in practice, understanding the needs of learners, teachers and all stakeholders. We recognise and contribute to research-informed and research-led provision that enables our trainees to develop into outstanding practitioners, achieving the outcome so wonderfully expressed by Nikos Kazantzakis: ‘True teachers are those who use themselves as bridges over which they invite their students to cross; then, having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse, encouraging them to create their own.”
To study with us as a trainee or to work with us as a partner means that you will work alongside people who are committed to education as a life-changing and life-affirming reality, supportive of your ambitions and expert in our ability to transform and help shape the lives of children.
