About Winchester City Council
Winchester City Council manages a wide variety of services. With responsibility for planning, housing, waste collection, Council Tax and Business Rates collection, leisure services, tourism, benefits administration and many more services.
The Council Plan 2020-25 sets out the priority outcomes for the Council and identifies the important issues that will be addressed over the life of the Plan through the work of the Council and its partners.
The Council Plan, which was adopted at Council on 15 January 2020 and replaces the previous Council Strategy 2017-20 is focused on five key outcomes that they want to achieve in the coming years in a way that is consistent across their aims.
These priority outcomes are:
- Tackling the climate emergency and creating a greener district
- Homes for all
- Vibrant local economy
- Living well
- Your services. Your voice.
The outcome of these combined aims will be a district where everyone enjoys the opportunities and quality of life that come from living in the Winchester District.
