Headteacher Opportunity atWightwick Hall School
About us
Wightwick Hall School
Set in 11 acres of school land, this suite of buildings, includes the historic Wightwick Hall School, part of the Endeavour Multi Academy Trust (MAT), and is a vibrant and inclusive special school dedicated to developing each learner as an individual. Our curriculum is carefully designed to ensure every student can achieve their full potential, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, values, and life experiences necessary for success in adulthood.
We believe in fostering independence, confidence, and ambition through a variety of engaging learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. At Wightwick Hall School we encourage all to ‘be curious and thrive’. Currently on role there are 164 students – with this set to rise to 180 in September 2025. The learners are all aged between 11 years and 19 years with a broad range of need. The predominant needs within the school population are: Cognition and Learning, Autism Spectrum Condition, Speech, Language and Communication and Social Emotional and Mental Health needs. These learners are supported by a strongly dedicated and skilled staff group of 80 people.
A Curriculum Built Around the Learner
At Wightwick Hall, we provide a pathways model that ensures students are taught through a pedagogical approach that best suits their needs. This includes:
- Informal Pathway – Focused on sensory and experiential learning.
- Semi-Formal Pathway – A balance of structured teaching and practical, hands-on experiences.
- Formal Pathway – More traditional subject-based learning tailored to individual abilities and aspirations.
Each pathway is designed to nurture students' potential and provide them with the tools they need to thrive in education, work, and life.
Exciting Opportunities for Lifelong Skills
We create dynamic learning experiences that help students apply their skills in real-world contexts. A key highlight is our onsite, pupil-run coffee shop enterprise, where students develop essential business, customer service, and teamwork skills. Additionally, our Life Skills Suite provides dedicated spaces for students to learn practical skills such as cooking, budgeting, and independent living — empowering them to lead fulfilling lives beyond school.
A Vibrant and Supportive Post-16 Provision
ur post-16 curriculum continues to prioritise personal development, employability, and independence. Students engage in vocational learning, work experience, and tailored academic pathways that align with their individual aspirations. Whether preparing for further education, supported employment, or independent living, our post-16 students receive personalised guidance to ensure a successful transition into adulthood.
