About Vantage Trust
Vantage Trust is a vibrant and ambitious mixed CE Multi Academy Trust governed with the Diocese of Manchester. It celebrates and supports the individual ethos of non-faith schools whilst recognising the Christian basis of its values and vision. Vantage Academy Trust is made up of six Church of England primary schools, three community primary schools and a non-faith secondary school. The trust came into existence in 2013 and is a family of schools, each of which have a special purpose and unique identity, but with a shared mission, vision and sense of responsibility for each other. It operates across a diverse geographical area in the North West of England, across five hubs in Knowsley, Bolton, Manchester, Salford and Trafford. These local hubs bring the added benefit of specialist teachers and communal headship, as well as further support and accessible advice. The trust enables the sharing of best practice and for economies of scale to be achieved across the group. The mission is simply to support and encourage the work of the academies in the trust, through the excellent education of children and young people.
The committed and talented staff are the lifeblood of the trust. They care deeply about the children, ensuring every ounce of their potential is nurtured and developed, and provide outstanding service to their local communities and championing best practice to foster excellent outcomes for the children. The trust is committed to providing the best possible working environment, care and benefits for all staff, which includes giving everyone regular opportunity to provide feedback. From this, Best Companies named the trust as the 7th best education and training provider in the UK in 2021, and a deep-dive into wellbeing with Mind in 2022 awarded us with a Silver Medal –Achieving Impact.
Vision and Values
- Maintaining a strong culture of professional development amongst our teaching staff as the quality of education in our academies can never exceed the quality of its teachers.
- Developing our academies to be centres of excellence with a focus on the social and spiritual nurture and achievement of all their members.
- Allowing every person to be an active and valued member of our community and developed in their own spiritual journey.
- Developing future and aspirational thinking based on our educational heritage and to make use of the latest research in pedagogy and child development, ensuring that our wider learning environment reflects the high aspirations and expectations we have for ourselves and one another.
- Fostering, maintaining and celebrating individual distinctiveness in our schools
- Ensuring our academies have a particular vocation to the least advantaged, to enable them, through education, to change their lives.
- Encouraging pupils to be curious about the world around us and see their personal learning and growth as a continuous journey.
- Not setting a limit on what is possible for ourselves, for one another, and for our community of schools.
The Future
The trust is ambitious for growth but do not plan to ‘grow for growth’s sake’. The plan is to develop existing location hubs on the proviso that it is able to:
- Ensure the right balance between schools needing & providing support
- Form partnerships with enough schools to make the local hubs viable
- Balance regional presence with local community impact
- Take on new schools that share the trust vison, mission and values
