About us
The University of Wolverhampton holds a distinctive place within the higher education sector, and is one of the most successful modern universities, delivering excellence in teaching and research, widening access, and business engagement. Having begun life over 190 years ago to enhance the education and skill base of the workforce in what is today a major industrial conurbation, we have continued to fulfil and develop the role to meet the needs of the regions we serve.
Our course offering is comprehensive across our Schools and Institutes, based within three faculties. We have three main teaching campuses in the UK: City Campus based in the heart of Wolverhampton city centre, Walsall Campus, and Telford Campus, as well as Learning Centres in Burton, Telford and Stafford.
We operate the University of Wolverhampton Science Park and e-lnnovation Centre in Telford, devoted to the support and enhancement of innovation and enterprise. We also have an international presence with over 20 transnational education partners.

We were awarded a Silver award as part of the Teaching Excellence Framework assessment in 2018, recognising that we deliver high quality provision with most students achieving excellent outcomes. This is evidenced by our excellent graduate employment record, with over 90% of our most recent graduating class in employment or further study according to Graduate Outcomes. We are a significant strategic force in the educational, cultural and economic development of the West Midlands, recognised for world-leading research across all our research areas.
The next stage of our development continues with our ambitious Vision 2030 strategy. Our vision is to transform the leadership and workforce of our place through inclusive student success and world-class research.
Through our pillars of Inclusive Student Success and Place we will cement our position as the University of Opportunity, delivering higher education at the point of need and believing in those who believe in themselves, by offering them an opportunity to excel.
The fruits of our five-year, £250 million investment programme, ‘Our Vision, Your Opportunity’ resulted in changes to the campus, and city's skyline, with buildings including the Rosalind Franklin and Lord Swraj Paul buildings, a new Science and Technology Prototyping Centre at the University of Wolverhampton Science Park, as well as the beginnings of our built environment 'super campus' at the former Springfield Brewery site in Wolverhampton.
Springfield Campus is now the home to our brand-new School of Architecture and Built Environment, with the West Midlands University Technical College, and Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills on-site, it's central to our vision of enhancing the student experience and supporting business growth.
There are exciting new developments at Telford Campus, with the development of the new Marches Centre of Excellence in Health, Allied Health and Social Care, expanding our ability to deliver more health-based courses on-site, including nursing and paramedic science. Health facilities have also been improved in Walsall Campus' Sister Dora building. Whilst in Hereford, the Midlands Centre for Cyber Security is ready to breathe new life into an increasingly important facet of our daily lives.
This is a tremendously exciting time to join the University of Wolverhampton and we are looking for exceptional candidates to work with us in achieving our vision. Come and join us!
