Foreword from Chief Digital Officer – David Hill
Thank you for your interest in our Intelligent Client Function roles at the University of Nottingham. We’re delighted to be sharing details of these new and exciting opportunities to join our team at an unprecedented time of digital transformation and change.
I joined the Digital & Technology Services team at the University of Nottingham in November 2017. As the university’s first Chief Digital Officer, I have been tasked with leading the transition for Nottingham to become a digital exemplar for the HE sector and with defining and delivering an ambitious digital strategy to provide students, academics and staff with an exemplary and collaborative user experience. There is a clear appetite for change and the university has committed to investing in the organisation’s technology provision with over £75 million allocated over the next 3 years to drive enterprise-wide digitisation.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, our reliance upon technology increased dramatically and in order to keep pace and ensure we continue our digital maturity journey, we have been seeking to engage a Digital Partner to support the modernisation of our foundational IT services. A full business case was approved by University Council in November 2021 and we are delighted to announce that we will be onboarding a Digital Partner who will act as a trusted strategic advisor to the university in early 2022.
To help us effectively onboard and manage the Digital Partner, in early 2022 we will be establishing an ‘Intelligent Client Function’ to ensure we understand customer need, help to procure new services, transform ways of working and maintain an end-to-end view of digital projects and programmes. These roles will be key to our ongoing successful relationship with the Digital Partner and we are interested in hearing from individuals who are passionate about education and excited about digitisation, innovation and change and joining us on our digital journey over the next 3-5 years.
This is an exceptional opportunity to become a member of an ambitious and highly motivated team. We look forward to receiving your application.
