Hays Construction and Property is proud to be working in partnership with the University of East Anglia to support them in their 2019 recruitment drive for Trades and Maintenance Operatives.

The University of East Anglia are holding an open day on Saturday 19th January from 9am – 12pm and would like to invite candidates who come from the following trades backgrounds to come and see what the UEA has to offer.

Areas they are looking to recruit for as follows;

• Electricians
• Plumbers
• Building Fabrics Engineers, including
• Floorlayers
• Decorators
• Skilled multi-trades
• Maintenance Assistants

The UEA is a vibrant and exciting place to work. The campus is set in over 300 acres of beautiful countryside, and there is a real and tangible feeling of community. In addition to this, knowing that their efforts support learning and research for future generations provides exceptional motivation.

The Estates and Facilities Division is about to embark on a comprehensive refurbishment and development programme that will see the biggest changes and improvements to the Universities built estate, since it was founded over 50 years ago. It is an exciting time to be part of the team tasked with this, and they are all up for the challenge.

Under the leadership of James Taylor, the Maintenance Department has been through a significant programme of change and modernisation, embracing new technologies and innovation to ensure we are perfectly placed to help the University achieve its aims, now and in the future. We have a clear focus on being recognised as a model of best practice within the sector.

As a tradesperson working at the UEA, you will have the opportunity to play with your complete trainset! We have everything from student accommodation, catering facilities, a sports centre and art gallery, to laboratories, lecture theatres, offices and much more that all need to be maintained and kept looking their best. No two days are the same, and there is rarely a dull moment!

These are exciting opportunities for people with the right values and attributes, and we sincerely hope that the successful candidates for these roles will bring additional strength and depth to an already established and experienced team.
