About Us
Many assume a hospice is about the very last days of life and therefore ultimately death. This is far from the case. St Helena provides support for those with a life limiting illness, as well as their families and carers, often for many years. The hospice itself provides an opportunity for patients to receive respite care, as well as having medication and pain management reviews and a large portion of those that spend time in the hospice go back home again. A huge number of those they care for never even come into the hospice but are looked after in their own homes.
“Mum stayed at the Hospice as an inpatient for some much-needed TLC. Her care has been outstanding. The love, kindness and compassion shown to her from every member of staff was heartwarming and mum felt calm, safe and very spoilt. You are all angels”.
