This is a fantastic opportunity to join a newly restructured team, working for a Council who have committed to the opportunities that professional procurement provide in the way in which our services are delivered.

The procurement team play a key role in supporting departments across the Council and key stakeholders involved in the procurement process to deliver our procurement activities within a robust and transparent governance framework. The restructure reflects the high profile nature of the team and the value that they, as experienced and skilled procurement professionals, can bring to procurement and policies to support the achievement of the council’s objectives.

Procurement is at the forefront of influencing and driving meaningful change through which the Council’s Borough Plan and Fairer Future Commitments are delivered. It also has a role to play in supporting community wealth building, local businesses and the delivery of social value outcomes. The importance of equality, diversity and inclusion is recognised through the Council’s Southwark Stands Together Programme, which has an agreed action plan to tackle racism, injustice and inequality and encompasses the role that procurement practices can play.

Thanks to our Fairer Future Procurement Framework, our procurements are undertaken to the highest ethical, sustainable and responsible standards so helping to create fairer and ever more inclusive outcomes for our residents and communities.
