About Sackers

Nearly 100 years old, Sackers provide metal and waste recycling and has two sites situated near Ipswich at Great Blakenham and Needham Market. The Great Blakenham site is where Sackers has some impressive pieces of plant that recycles metals from aeroplanes to cars and small household appliances. The Needham Market site, which is three miles up the road, also recycles metal, collects and recycles commercial waste and a small proportion of domestic skip waste.

Sackers have invested strategically in equipment to give cutting edge technology to create a strong and competitive position. Sackers have three metal recycling cells. The shredding plant is the only one of its type and size in East Anglia and allows Sackers to be the final processor in East Anglia. The copper granulating plant and aluminium plant allows Sackers to convert raw material into finished product efficiently and effectively.

90% of Sackers products are then shipped via Felixstowe to our customers all over the world. Sackers is one of the largest exporters in East Anglia and are getting bigger month on month.

Sackers care about its employees and invest in them and their personal career development. The company have signed the Armed forces covenant and proudly achieved the Silver Award in our support to the Forces.

Sackers has also signed the Gender Equality in Business from Suffolk Chamber of Commerce to show its commitment to women in a male dominated environment such as this. Sackers has a strong track record of growing its own talent, it has staff that have grown within the business into senior leadership roles and has a high staff retention rate.
