Executive Director of Finance - Oxford Direct Services
Salary: Up to £134,000 based on experience

Our services include waste and recycling, parks and open spaces, housing repairs and highways maintenance. Our business model ensures that our success impacts directly on the quality of life enjoyed by Oxford’s residents, as our surpluses are returned to the Council to protect front line services. We are currently seeking a dynamic Finance Director who can relate to our governance structure and is in tune with our growth ambitions.
We’re wholly owned by Oxford City Council but we operate as a commercial business. With a £70 million turnover and a workforce of over 500, we deliver a huge range of vital services on behalf of Oxford City Council, but we also manage numerous commercial contracts across with businesses, landlords, charities, hospitals and education establishments. We have to be efficient, commercial and high quality, but we also have a strong belief in social value. We are seeking to grow the revenues of our trading arm from £13m to £40m over the next few years. So, for a highly commercial Finance Director, there’s a lot to sink your teeth into!
A qualified accountant, your commercial judgement will be instrumental in our success. Previous experience in dealing with public sector clients or stakeholders would be useful, but in no way essential. You won’t simply be focussed on money though – you will have a passion for helping to develop staff, collaborate and make a difference to the society or environment in which we live.
