Thank you for expressing interest in the new position of Associate Executive Principal, with the initial responsibility of leading Outwood Academy Ormesby. Your immediate priority will be the success of Outwood Academy Ormesby which will then open the door to executive leadership within the trust. This can include strategic leadership of a cluster of 2-4 schools and leadership of a thread of Trust wide improvement as part of the Trust Executive Team.

Outwood Academy Ormesby, in the heart of Middlesbrough, is not just a school; it's a vibrant community of 900 students aged 11 to 16, including a SEND additional resource base provision. Serving a catchment area marked by high deprivation, our mission is clear – to narrow gaps, break down barriers, and lead with unwavering expectations that will set our students on a path to a brighter future.

We understand that the challenges are significant, but so is the impact you can make. The school has faced recent struggles, acknowledged by inspectors in July 2022 when the school was issued with a notice to improve, but we are committed to rapid and sustained improvement. This is where you come in. As the Associate Executive Principal, you will play a central role in leading this transformative journey, shaping the school's culture and driving long-term positive change. A new Trust school improvement approach has been enacted to secure rapid sustained improvement in the school. Much work is underway to ensure long term sustained change and to strengthen wider community engagement. This new role will play a central role in leading this change and transforming the school’s culture.

We are looking for someone who not only leads with moral purpose but is also passionate about making a real difference in the lives and outcomes of our students. You are likely to be an experienced Principal/Headteacher looking for a new challenge and the next step in your leadership career, but you must have the determination and ambition to firstly lead this academy to a bright future. We want someone with the determination to raise standards, reduce barriers, and truly put Students First.
