- Oasis Academy, Isle of Sheppey is an 11-18 larger than average sized secondary school.
- The Academy became part of the Oasis MAT in January 2014.
- The vast majority of students are from White British backgrounds. A very small proportion of students speaks English as an additional language.
- The proportion of students supported by the pupil premium and those looked after by the local authority is above national average.
- Moral among teachers is high. They feel valued by leaders and believe that the training they receive is well matched to their needs.
- Pupils pay attention in lessons and take pride in their work.
- Oasis Academy, Isle of Sheppey is supported by leaders and subject experts from Oasis South Bank Academy.
- Subject Leaders relish the new changes to the curriculum & assessment and have acted with vigour and urgency to ensure teachers have the support they need to teach the new curriculum and assess pupils’ progress accurately.

Care & Support
Staff and student wellbeing is of paramount importance to everyone at Oasis Academy Isle of Sheppey. Training for staff is based on an accurate analysis of need.
Features of our provision include:
- An induction process is offered to all new staff -both teaching & support staff
- NQT’s have a 2-lesson reduction in their timetables and NQT’s also have tailored induction programme of regular sessions covering topics such as classroom behaviour management, child protection, teaching and learning, preparing for teaching audits and department reviews.
- Regular, whole staff, year team and Learning Area briefings provide clear information about current activities across the Academy.
- Annual performance management reviews are carried out for all staff which provide the opportunity to review successes, acknowledge personal targets and highlight areas for personal and professional development.
