I am delighted to introduce myself as the Principal of Oasis Academy, Isle of Sheppey. Our Academy is based on the foundations of the Oasis Community Learning ethos whereby all our pupils are treated as unique individuals. We provide strong pastoral care so that everyone receives the personal support required to reach their potential in a safe and stimulating environment.

I am supported by a dedicated team of leaders, teachers and support staff and collectively we have high aspirations for all our pupils. Our Leaders’ work is focused on ensuring teaching is delivered to a high standard daily.

As a rapidly improving school, we recognise the continuous work necessary to increase pupils’ academic progress and attendance, as we strive to meet and exceed national standards. Thus, our expectations around pupils’ conduct and work ethics are high. Our school is based on the 3Ps which we call The Isle of Sheppey Way, which are to be prepared, polite and productive.

At Oasis, we believe passionately that everyone’s contribution matters and that its imperative to be constantly learning from and supporting one another. We are committed to improving expertise through your continual professional development and place a strong emphasis on excellent pedagogy, offering learning and training opportunities at a local, regional and national level.

Whether you are joining us as an experienced teacher, NQT, support staff or leadership, we want to support and invest in you at every step of your career.

Oasis Academy is on an exciting journey and we look forward to working with you to ensure our children achieve the success they deserve.

Oasis Academy Isle of Sheppey is situated across two campuses – East (Minster-on-Sea) and West (Sheerness).

Situated on the Kent coast and with good motorway and rail connections, the Isle of Sheppey offers an ideal combination to enjoy the perfect work/life balance.

There is a fast and easy access to the M2 and M20; and direct train services to Gillingham (12 minutes), Canterbury (20 minutes) and London less than an hour away. There is affordable housing in the immediate locality of the Academy and we are in an area of rapid regeneration.

Within the immediate vicinity, Sheerness offers good local facilities and there is a strong community programme of activities in which the Academy plays an important role. As the only secondary provision on the island, the Academy really is the hub of the local community.
