The Enablement & Performance (E&P) team is the enabling function for the Commercial Services team, the ‘engine room’ of commercial, and it works collaboratively with the commercial pillar teams to drive value and share best practice to improve and enable delivery. It uses data and insights to drive more impactful commercial outcomes, as well as drive change across the wider team.
It is split into four sub teams, which drive consistency, efficiency and increased levels of support across the Commercial function:
Change and Capability delivers the portfolio of change and improved capability and ways of working within Commercial, whilst promoting an increased focus on talent and performance management.
Governance, Risk & Assurance drives consistency across commercial activity to ensure MPS is working within and being compliant to legal requirements, commercial policies and best practice governance and controls. The team are also accountable for analysing, managing and reporting on commercial risk for the MPS’ third party arrangements.
Digital Enablement (Systems, Process & Reporting) will become a key enabler for the commercial team to make strategic decisions, based on transparent, timely and accurate data and reports produced by this team. The team will also be responsible for the commercial systems strategy, and support its digital journey in implementing and managing key systems and platforms to deliver solutions that meet the needs of the function and wider MPS. Finally, the team will support optimal processes and ways of working, identifying areas for continuous improvement across the function using systems, technology and other enablers.
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) will define the role of SRM in the MPS Commercial Function and the wider MPS. The SRM team will work to identify MPS’ strategic suppliers, and set up best practice ways of working, processes and insight that enables improved overall delivery and additional value for MPS. This team are also responsible for developing and implementing the MPS’ Commercial Social Value and Sustainability Strategy, the Small and Diverse Business Action Pan and the Sustainability Management Plan, ensuring that defined targets are met.
