Welcome from the Director of Commercial, Mark Roberts

I joined Commercial Services in December 2019 and am extremely proud of the role we play for the organisation.

Commercial Services are responsible for ensuring both the Metropolitan Police and wider Policing become more efficient in their delivery of value for money services and enabling the Metropolitan Police “to make London the safest Global City”.

On joining the Commercial team I expect all staff to take personal responsibility to familiarise themselves with our mission, vision, purpose and challenges. I expect all staff to lead with impact, understand the importance of diversity and inclusion, and ensure to demonstrate at high professional standards collaborating with stakeholders.

Continuing our level of sustained success is no mean feat and team work is vital. Only by working together can we continue to “Help keep London Safe”.

In Commercial I want to encourage good communication, innovation, recognition and strive for value for money. Commercial are an open and transparent team, where I encourage staff to come forward with new ideas and nurture and develop talent.

My focus for the next couple of years is to refresh the functional transformation established in 2020, in line with the Turnaround Plan, whilst understanding how the spending power of the Metropolitan Police, as an Anchor institute of London, will enable Sustainability and Social Value solutions for the benefit of both itself and the citizens of London.
