At Waltham Forest we understand that the way we “do” property can have a profound impact on the lives of our residents. We have ambitious plans, set out in our Mission Waltham Forest - aimed at answering the challenges our borough faces. Our people are at the heart of Mission Waltham Forest. They will ensure we make Waltham Forest a great place to live and age well; they will ensure we tackle the housing crisis head on; and they will help build an economy that works for everyone. We believe the way we deliver property services are at the heart of Mission Waltham Forest.
Split into three services, Commercial Estate and Investment is led by the Corporate Property Officer who leads the organisational delegation where the team delivers on all, non-housing management, property initiatives. This includes the Council’s corporate landlord model, and the borough’s commercial investment properties which has a rent roll expected to aggressively grow over the next three years, funding essential services to our residents. Its commercial outcomes are key to supporting vital council services.
Our Asset Management team will ensure that we are maximising every opportunity available to us in our occupational property portfolio while also ensuring we create strong sustainable partnerships with our voluntary and community sector as well as ensuring we have a fit for purpose estate that is exemplar for our staff, residents and wider community.
The Property Professional Services team has the oversight and is the engine room to ensuring delivery, through development appraisals, professional technical requirements, ensuring the organisation achieves its value for money through public assets and the professional property services on CPO’s, RTB’s and valuation services.
