We have recently restructured our Finance function to increase resource capability, ensuring we have the right talent in place to navigate the challenging times faced by all local authorities. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Head of Finance leader to join us and enable us to realise our ambitious service provision plans.
People and Resilience
Provides Finance expertise to Barking and Dagenham and to its subsidiaries, wholly owned companies and other organisations including but not limited to Be First, Barking and Dagenham Trading Partnership and Reside.
  • Report to the Finance Director (Deputy S151).

  • Being a member of the Finance Management Team
  • Responsible for elderly care provision, children and social care budgets
  • Lead on the Dedicated Schools Budget and the Local Funding Formula and represent the Director of Finance on the Schools Forum, ensuring that the financial position of the Council’s maintained schools is monitored, and schools receive appropriate advice and support.
  • 1-5 direct reports and responsible for a team of between 5-15
