Purposeful by nature, Holmen Group
Founded in 1685, Holmen Iggesund has strived for quality and innovation since day one. In 1963, we started manufacturing paperboard for packaging under the brand name Invercote. Since then, we have developed new products and sustainable production processes as we continue to evolve in harmony with nature and close collaboration with our customers.
As part of the forestry industry group Holmen, we own more than 13 million hectares of forest in Sweden. We take care of every tree on its century-long journey from seedling to paperboard. This enables us to offer products made from pure fresh fibre. Ivercote, Incada and Inverform are manufactured in two stage-of-the-art mills; Iggesund Mill in Sweden and Workington Mill in West Cumbria.
Our market-leading brands, Invercote, Incada and Inverform, are renowned worldwide for their outstanding characteristics including durability, design versatility and low carbon footprint.
The Workington Mill
Manufacturing folding box board (FBB) is a technically advanced process. Incada, the paperboard produced at Holmen Iggesund’s Workington Mill, is of the highest quality and holds a prominent position in the market.
Continuous development and adaptation to customer needs and expectations are essential for success in a highly competitive market. Workington Mill is an integrated pulp and paperboard mill. Since 2013 it has been powered entirely by fossil carbon-free bioenergy. Bleached mechanical pulp is processed to suit the special demands of paperboard manufacture and is combined with purchased bleached chemical pulp into a multi-layered board construction which is ideally suited to the demands of modern paperboard packaging.
