Dear Applicant

Thank you for your interest in the role of CEO at Embrace.

The Directors of are seeking to appoint an inspirational Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead their successful and growing Multi Academy Trust due to the pending retirement of the current Trust Leader.

The Trust covers 7 Primary academies plus one Secondary academy – one Primary Academy has just joined us and preparations to bring in a further secondary academy are advanced. We are a majority church MAT within the Leicester Church of England Diocese but with an inclusive ethos that recognises the strengths and uniquenesses of all its academies including those that are not CofE schools. Hence the name ‘Embrace’.

We are also a relatively new Trust, having been formally set up in April 2019, but with the desire and expectation on the part of Directors that we continue to grow. We expect the successful applicant for this role to have strong skills in relationship building so as to drive our growth strategy whilst ensuring we do not lose our core values, including putting schools and learners at the centre of all we do.

We have a developing central team supported by inclusive and committed local governance and a Board of Directors drawn from senior roles in education and business. The CEO and school leaders are used to working closely to together to develop the operations and support mechanisms of the Trust and in turn provide the best possible outcomes for our learners. Together we are all committed to working with the successful candidate in order to achieve the aims and objectives of the Trust.

The Directors now want to build on these strong foundations as we move forward. The new CEO, once appointed, will lead our staff through the Trust’s next phase of growth, delivering its vision of providing excellent, inclusive education.

The Directors expect the appointment to this key role will:

  • Deliver our commitment to continuous improvement for our Academies.
  • Enhance the sharing of best practice skills and resources between our Academies.
  • Provide the capacity to drive our transformative, inclusive education.Maintain the growth necessary to achieve best value for money.
  • Continue to develop strong relationships with key partners (LA, Diocese, DfE, ESFA, other MATs) and contribute to the national drive to improve the whole educational system.

I very much hope that, after reading further about Embrace and this role, you will consider applying.
