• Flexible smarter working patterns: A traditional 9am-5pm working pattern may not be for everyone, so EHDC offer lots of different types of working patterns - subject to role and business need.
• Flexi-time scheme: A generous flexi-time scheme in place for all grades (up to Head of Service level). This means that you are able to take up to 2 days per month of flexi-leave if you accrue the time - subject to business needs.
• Career graded pay: A number of our roles provide the opportunity for career progression. Through a career graded pay structure which extends across a number of pay levels you can develop in your role and be recognised financially.

This is a contributory pension scheme based on earnings, however, the Council also contributes generously to the scheme. Additionally, through the LGPS, three times your annual salary would be offered to your nominated beneficiary if you die in service.

• Taro Leisure Centre: We have a discounted gym membership available through the Taro Centre. You are also able to benefit from discounted food and drink from the leisure centre if you fancy a stroll out of the office.
• Free parking: Free parking is available for staff and visitors to Penns Place.
• 30mins physical activity allowance: Our staff are encouraged to stay healthy and active, and can take an extra half-an-hour 'activity break' each week to keep well - both physically and mentally. Go for a walk, run cycle, swim... it's up to you!
• Child care vouchers scheme: We operate a 'salary sacrifice' scheme for the purchase of Childcare Vouchers directly from your salary. This means that you can save tax and NI contributions on the cost of your childcare.
• Active Sports and Social Club: We have an active sports and social club which arranges regular events throughout the year including social activities, trips, sports groups, an annual quiz and a staff lottery.
• Free flu jabs: Annual flu vaccinations are available to all employees.

• Locked bicycle sheds: If you prefer to come to work on your bike, there are locked bicycle sheds available so you can store your bike safely and securely.
