Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Data centre Engineer with a strong mechanical and technical background to support the customisation and deployment of server/enterprise equipment within high‑performance environments. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in data centres.

Location:Hatfield Business Park Hatfield Avenue – Hatfield
Daily Rate: A per hour rate, in-scope IR35, of £14.90/hr PAYE) OR £19.33/hr (umbrella company)
Contract Duration: Rolling 3-month contract
Work Type: On-site
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities
  • Rack and stack of active network hardware, switches, routers & servers
  • Understand and follow the patching schedule/cut sheet.
  • Installing power and data connection cables within server & networking racks.
  • Follow instructions and provide on-site support to remote network and systems administrators.
  • Read & follow Rack Elevation Diagrams
  • Apply basic IP addressing under instructions/directions.
  • Installing and configuring UPS systems (Desirable)
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and cross‑functional teams to ensure successful and timely deployments.
  • Follow all safety procedures, industry standards, and environmental guidelines during field operations.

Qualifications
  • Must be very familiar with working in a Data Centre
  • Good understanding of various Structured Cabling Solutions
  • Capable of installing & Testing Fibre Optic cables
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving ability, and high attention to detail.
  • Comfortable performing hands‑on technical work.
