Join a leading independent technology and services provider as a technician 2.

Job Overview:
The Tech2 Engineer will be responsible for executing on-site deployment of new devices and managing the secure storage of legacy equipment. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide hands-on support to end users during the transition process.

Location: Chilton: Harwell Campus, Didcot - Oxford
Daily Rate: £14.54/hr – PAYE, £18.87/hr – UMB
Contract Length: One Day Role – 08/12/2025

Key Responsibilities

Device Deployment
  • Carry out on-site installation and configuration of new devices.
  • Ensure devices are fully operational and meet company standards before handover.
  • Provide basic training or guidance to users on new equipment.
Legacy Device Management
  • Collect and securely store legacy devices from users.
  • Maintain accurate records of all devices returned.
  • Ensure compliance with asset management and data security policies.
Customer Support
  • Act as the first point of contact for users during deployment.
  • Answer questions related to hardware, software, and data migration.
  • Provide reassurance and clear communication throughout the process.
Documentation & Tracking
  • Maintain logs of device assignments and returns.
  • Report any issues with hardware or software promptly.
  • Support asset tracking and inventory management processes.
Operational Duties
  • Prepare deployment areas with required equipment and materials.
  • Ensure all devices and paperwork are organised for daily cycles.
  • Wrap up at the end of each day, securing equipment and updating records.

Key Requirements
  • Proven experience in IT support, deployment, or engineering roles.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware setup, software installation, and data transfer processes.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deployments in a day.
  • Familiarity with asset management and IT security practices.
