About the role
As a technician 3, we are seeking an IT Deployment Engineer to support a large-scale Windows 11 rollout. The role involves building, testing, deploying, and decommissioning over 1,600 devices across multiple sites.
Location: Raynesway - Derby
Shifts: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)
Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Contract Duration: 27 October 2025 till 31 December 2026
Rate: in-scope IR35, of £19.38/hr (PAYE) OR £25.15/hr (Umbrella Company)
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Build up to 1,605 Windows 11 devices according to the deployment schedule.
- Maintain a build throughput of approximately 250 devices per week.
- Conduct pilot deployments to validate build quality and supplier processes.
- Physically prepare devices for shipment and manage transportation logistics.
- Deploy up to 50 desktop devices per day to identify users during working hours.
- Verify device functionality.
- Provide Early Life Support for one day following each deployment block.
- Collect legacy desktop devices and return them to the Raynesway storage area for decommissioning.
- Deploy up to 50 laptops per day, based on 10-minute appointment slots.
- Follow security protocols:
- Apply USB usage warning stickers
- Use tamper-proof and identifier stickers
- Request pre-boot PIN and BitLocker password changes (where applicable)
- Assist users with deployment checklist completion and obtain user sign-off.
- Return legacy laptops to Raynesway for secure disposal.
- Provide deployment progress updates at agreed intervals.
- Complete any re-arranged deployments and collect replaced devices.
- Retain legacy devices for 3 weeks post-replacement for potential data recovery.
- After the holding period, consultant will remove disk drives/memory for secure on-site disposal per standards.
Other stuff we’re looking for:
- Active SC Clearance (UK nationals only; dual nationality not accepted).
- Proven experience in large-scale IT deployments and hardware rollouts.
- Familiarity with Windows 11 builds, testing, and configuration.
- Strong understanding of secure handling and disposal of IT assets.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel to remote sites as needed.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Willingness to complete onboarding for client subsidiaries.
