Chief Executive Officer

Your new company:
Community Lives Consortium are looking for a Chief Executive Officer to lead their purpose-driven non-profit organisation that exists to help disabled people living in the communities of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. They require an experienced leader who can work with our excellent Responsible Individual to rise to the challenge of taking the organisation into the next exciting phase of its development, whilst staying true to the values and direction of the organisation. You will join an established senior management team with a vast amount of combined experience running a successful social care provider. They are forward thinking and driven towards being the first large user-led support agency. Their tenants and the people they support are at the centre of every decision they make as an organisation, but they also consider the wider impact of their operations. Addressing the climate change emergency is something the organisation feels strongly about and is considered in daily operations.

Your new role:
As the Chief Executive Officer, you will be supported by the Responsible Individual and the Senior Leadership Team of seven operational and central managers. Together they manage the successful delivery of support to the people that they serve. You will be required to plan for the organisation to achieve short-term targets and deliver long-term business and service improvement. This will require regular discussion and reporting to the board to help guide the organisation to best serve the individuals that it supports. Building and maintaining relationships with relevant stakeholders will have the upmost importance in the role and includes but is not restricted to government, provider, community, citizen and practice groups. Due to the developing nature of social care and funding implications, financial efficiency will be an essential priority in the role.

What you will need to succeed:
To succeed in the role of Chief Executive Officer, you will need significant experience of management at this level in a relevant sector. This will include working collaboratively with a board of directors or trustees to successfully lead an organisation. Experience of managing multiple functions within an organisation will be essential, including business planning, project management, measuring quality and impact, recruitment, human resources, safeguarding, finance and communications. They are looking for an empathetic leader, who will lead by example, living up to and defending their organisation’s values. They will need to be decisive and resilient, able to make decisions and cope under the pressures of the role. Finally, they are looking for a visionary, someone who can imagine new possibilities and communicate them to inspire others.

What you will get in return:
  • £61,024 Per Annum (This will be uplifted from April 2025)
  • 25 days annual leave, increasing to 29 days after 5 years’ service (plus 8 bank holidays).
  • A 6% matched contribution pension scheme.
