All different, all equal, all achieving

Chilwell Croft Academy is a two-form entry Primary School in Birmingham serving the inner-city communities of Aston and Newtown. We are part of the Equitas Academies Trust which was formed in September 2012 and incorporates Aston Manor Academy (Secondary) and Chilwell Croft Academy (Primary).

Trustees are now looking for a new Deputy Headteacher to work with our talented team of teachers and staff and to inspire in our children a love of learning, confidence and ambition to achieve.

Chilwell Croft Academy is a rapidly improving primary, which is well supported by staff and parents alike. We are a vibrant, diverse, and harmonious community where pupils from different ethnic heritages are inspired, work well together, and feel safe and supported. The Academy has had an extremely positive journey and leaders and staff place a strong emphasis on positive attitudes, high quality learning and a strong team approach. The curriculum provided is innovative, relevant, and engaging. This enables our children to be curious, independent, and brave learners who are not afraid to take risks. Consequently, in January 2019 the school has received an Ofsted rating of ‘Good’.

We are always striving for ways to improve. We take real pride in the steps we have taken and will continue to take as a school, to ensure that every child is given an outstanding education and a real chance to achieve their full potential. We appreciate the many challenges that lie ahead due, in part, to the educational gaps caused by the current pandemic, but also to drive the school forward and become an outstanding provider of education.

We are looking to appoint an inspirational and reflective leader who embodies the inclusive ethos which celebrates and promotes the diversity of the community that the Academy serves. As Deputy Headteacher, you will work with the new Headteacher to ensure that the Academy builds on its many strengths and maintains the drive to continually improve and develop.

The role of Deputy Headteacher is key to the success of the school. The Deputy Head will be instrumental in coaching to continue our aim to raise the standards of teaching and learning across the school. They will play a significant role in the leadership and management of the school and will lead on areas of the development plan according to skills and interests, but with pupil premium and safeguarding playing a large focus in daily obligations.

Equitas Academies Trust puts great emphasis on its vision, summarised in our motto: “all different, all equal, all achieving”.
