Commercial Director

Location: Preston Brook, Cheshire

Salary - Circa £120,000 (dependent on background and experience)

As part of the small Bridgemere Executive Board, comprising Financial, Legal, Development Directors, together with high-profile Chairman, you will head up all commercial aspects of the organisations project management work. This high-profile position reports into the company Chairman and as such holds an extremely high level of responsibility. As Commercial Director you will make a real impact on Bridgemere and its interests.

The role will also involve a number of charitable projects for the Steve Morgan Foundation which is one of the largest charitable foundations in the UK.

Examples of this work include the development of several Maggie’s cancer support centres, and the Wolverhampton Youth Zone.

Principal responsibilities:

• Full financial responsibility of all projects from inception to completion.

• Value Engineering – Securing the best possible results.

• Overseeing Architects, consultants and contractors to ensure first class design and build.

• Procurement of suppliers and contractors.

• Reporting progress of objectives at board level.

• Identifying and overcoming commercial and technical problems to ensure completion dates are hit and within budget.

What you'll need to succeed:

• Due to the uniqueness and profile of this role there is no prerequisite to background. Your exemplary personal characteristics are most important.

• You are likely to have worked or be working at a very senior level in a commercial management or project role with a developer, management consultancy or contractor, however other high calibre backgrounds will be considered.

• You will be highly commercially aware and will have an excellent eye for detail.

• You will work independently and also as part of a very small team, thus you will be a highly motivated self-starter.

• You will have a proven track record of full commercial management and the value engineering of projects from inception through to completion.

• Straight talking and results driven, - you will procure, manage, and drive contractors to agreed deadlines.

• The variation and complexity of work requires a positive, problem-solving attitude. Challenges must be overcome with practical and timely solutions.

• You will have first class communication and client development skills.

• The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of both design and M+E.
