Girls’ School

Welcome to Bishop Challoner Girls’ School. I am Ms Easmon-Johnson, Head of the Girls' School and Vice-Principal of the Federation.

We are a vibrant, friendly and diverse community in the heart of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

Our school offers state-of-the-art facilities, a rigorous and academic curriculum and outstanding teaching and learning opportunities, all of which contributed to our excellent examination results.

As a Catholic school, we firmly put Jesus Christ at the centre of all we do and endeavour to live out the gospel values of love, justice, peace, mercy, forgiveness and truth in our daily interactions with one another. These values are modelled by pupils and staff and have helped to create a peaceful, inclusive learning environment.

Our most recent OFSTED report is outstanding and is evidence that your daughter will flourish whilst in our care. Please do take a look at the inspection in greater detail here.

We are fully committed to securing outstanding academic outcomes for all our pupils and believe enrichment opportunities help to achieve this. We have welcomed guest speakers such as the poet Benjamin Zephaniah, politician Nick Clegg and the actress Joanna Lumley. We also enjoy fruitful partnerships with organisations such as Ogilvy Marketing and Allen and Overy Law firm to help raise aspirations and develop vision for the future within our school.

We aim to make school an enjoyable, challenging, life-changing experience where all girls are provided with the opportunity to flourish academically, spiritually and emotionally. This rich, holistic approach to the development of the whole child means all pupils leave our school confident and with a greater appreciation and awareness of the World in which they live. Our#girlswithgoals campaign provides the opportunity for all girls to realise their potential by recognising their unique gifts and talents through a combination of mentoring and extra-curricular activities.

The key aims of #girlswithgoals are:

  • Adopt a healthy academic and body self-esteem
  • Have a vision for the future
  • Develop a positive mindset towards their academic studies and life in general.

We have hosted a number of successful events promoting the campaign amongst our pupils, staff and parents, including an annual conference, Mother and Daughter Christmas Afternoon Tea, after-school cooking club and a film-making club. We are set to premiere a short film in September 2017, entitled ‘The Power of Yet’ which was directed and filmed by some of the girls who attend Bishop Challoner School.

I am confident that your daughter will succeed whilst here at Bishop Challoner and I look forward to partnering with you as together, we work closely to achieve this.

Why not come and see us at one of our open evenings or make an appointment to visit the school?

We look forward to meeting you.

Ms Chantelle Easmon-Johnson
Vice Principal and Head of the Girls’ School
