BOYS MAIN

Boys’ school

Our school has been providing boys with the very best Catholic education in Tower Hamlets since merging with the Girls’ school in 2001. Though we are a Federated school, we believe that girls and boys are successful when educated separately between the ages of 11 and 16.

Our school community is founded on the gospel values; our school motto, “Christ at the Centre”, epitomises this. Christian values are at the heart of all that we do at Bishop Challoner. We aim develop in our Boys’ a moral compass that gives them the ability to judge what is right and what is wrong and enables them to contribute to the common good of the world.

Catholic education offers more than just academic success and at Bishop Challoner one of our goals is to ensure the social, spiritual and moral wellbeing of a young person. It is our belief that education must aim to produce happy, successful students who are equipped with the skills to flourish in life. At Bishop Challoner we work hard to ensure our Boys are provided with the opportunities to enable them to develop these holistic, lifelong skills.

We will provide your son with access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources. We aim to create the best possible learning environment for your son, a climate that is developed through discipline, Catholic values and outstanding teaching. Our latest Ofsted report was very good which means your son is likely to achieve better at Bishop Challoner than at another school.

We are a happy and friendly school. We welcome students from all backgrounds and, being multi-cultural, there are 73 languages spoken in the school of over 1,500 students.

As Head, I am proud of what our students achieve. I believe that any student joining Bishop Challoner has the opportunity to reach his fullest potential and go on after five years to succeed in further and higher education and ultimately in a chosen career. In partnership with you, as parents, I am confident that the coming years will be a period of great success.

Mr Bryan Young
Vice-Principal and Head of the Boys' School
